Riot Games is adding long-requested VALORANT Game Mode
Riot Games will be introducing Swiftplay, VALORANT’s newest game mode.
It will go on global beta on December 6th once patch 5.12 goes live, and everybody will be able to join Swiftplay Beta queues up until January 10, 2023. The game mode is described as “a condensed version” of the regular 5v5 Unrated Spike mode.
Swiftplay obeys the map pool and buy phase rules of Unrated. Additionally, it will have an enhanced economy and a shorter playtime. It is first to 5 rounds, with each half being 4 rounds long. Sudden Death overtime applies.
The following rules will carry over from Unrated:
- Spike victory conditions
- Single Spike carrier
- Weapon and Credit carryover
- Standard Kill bonus (+600 Credits)
- Standard Spike Plant bonus (+300 Credits)
- +600 Credit reward for winning Pistol round
- Sudden Death overtime
The following are rules unique to Swiftplay:
- First to 5 rounds, 4-round half
- Credits granted at round start, per half:
- Round 1: 800
- Round 2: 2400
- Not including Pistol round win bonus
- Round 3: 4250
- Round 4: 4250
- 2 Ult points will be granted to each player at the start of each half
According to Riot, the goal of releasing the long-awaited game mode is “to offer the core VALORANT experience to players who have a lower time commitment, or [those who] want to get as many [games] in during a smaller window.”
