Former Abaddon Abyss Trio Joins Former Zeal Team Captain in MVP Esports
The former Abaddon Abyss trio of John Danlee “exotic” Mag-Aso, Shawn Dale “slathom999” Bolondro, and Alfi Angelo “vblack” Lua has joined former Zeal Esports team captain and in-game leader Dominique “N1CO” Tul-id in Metaverse Ventures and Platforms Inc.’s VALORANT esports team.
The move was announced back on Monday on MVP Esports Valorant’s official Facebook page. However, eagle-eyed fans of the organization may have noticed it coming as N1CO was already seen queuing up with Vblack during one of his recent streams.
Considering the addition of new players to the roster, MVP discreetly released Elner “magicss” Lebumfacil, Joshua “Sals” Salsbury, and Kimi “ariababy” Repunte, leaving only N1co and Michael “Kel” Canoy remaining from the roster that originally tried to qualify for the VALORANT Challengers League 2023 Philippines: Split 2.
Prior to the signing, the trio of Exotic, Slathom999, and Vblack were all left looking for a new organization after Abaddon Abyss dismissed the entire roster just right after their Split 1 playoffs run due to undisclosed financial difficulties. Meanwhile, N1co was recently picked up by MVP Esports just this January after trying a comeback to professional VALORANT with VOX.
Interestingly enough, the former roster of Abaddon Abyss, including the unsigned half of the roster (Kurt Stanley “Asta” Laurido, Matthew Lance “Hydra” Padios, and Abdul Rafi “Rababz” Biyala), is currently competing in the VCL 2023 Philippines: Split 2. As such, MVP Esports will be swapped in for the remainder of the split.
The Looking for Sponsors squad, currently represented by the former Abaddon Abyss roster, is currently 0-2 in the VCL 2023 PH: Split 2 after losing to ActionPH and ZOL Esports, respectively.
