Soul Fighter is Riot’s Newest Multi-Game Event
Riot Games is about to launch another event that spans multiple of its titles. Soul Fighter is the developer-publisher’s newest attempt at a simultaneous, themed event across League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra.
Soul Fighter is a tribute to the fighting game genre, and is introduced as taking place in “a colorful and diverse world where competitors fight to prove themselves through combat on the world’s biggest stage, the ‘Tournament of Souls.’ The competition, hosted by the mysterious God’s Eye, is where fighters with extraordinary abilities battle it out until there is only one standing. ”
Soul Fighters will begin on July 20 and end on August 28, 2023. During this period, 20% of the proceeds from the following in-game purchases will be contributed to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund.
- Soul Fighter Samira (skin only)
- Unmatched Bounty Hunter Bundle
- Soul Fighter Event Pass
- Soul Fighter Event Pass Bundle
League of Legends
For League of Legends players, the Soul Fighter event will introduce a new game mode, the first in a few years. Arena is a 2v2v2v2 rotating game mode, each duo facing off with another until one pair remains. As the game goes on, players will earn Augments that will make them stronger.

The update also adds Naafiri, the Hound of a Thousand Bites, as the game’s 164th champion. Soul Fighter skins for Naafiri, Samira (Ultimate), Viego (Legendary), Shaco (+ Prestige), Pyke (+ Prestige), Sett, Lux, Jhin, Gwen, and Evelynn will be released throughout the event duration.
Tournament of Souls is an in-client metagame experience that can be played to further flesh out the story of the universe and can be progressed by playing games of League.
Teamfight Tactics is also feeling the love with the new Soul Brawl game mode which takes place across two stages; the Training phase, where you compete for Soul Power that will strengthen your Soul Crown and provide additional loot options, and the Tournament phase, where you will be victorious or be eliminated in a best-of-three bracket tournament.
The Choncc Dome, another narrative experience, will be available for TFT players to enjoy.
On the cosmetics side, Chibi Gwen and Chibi Soul Fighter Gwen Tacticians can now be added to your arsenal, as well as the Khaat’Sai Little Legends and the Tournament of Souls arena.
League of Legends Wild Rift
League of Legends: Wild Rift is mirroring its PC counterpart by getting a new game mode, new champion, skins, and an exclusive narrative experience.
Nilah, the Joy Unbound, and her Soul Fighter skin will be released alongside those for Draven (+ Special Edition), Yasuo, Irelia, and Xin Zhao.
Tag Duel is the new game mode, where two players drop onto a modified map with three champions each, duking it out while being able to freely switch between the champions they selected.
Legends of Runeterra
Soul Fighter Skins for Nidalee, Virgo, Sett, Samira, Jhin, Gwen, Pyke, and Evelynn are coming to Legends of Runeterra, along with the Soul Fighter Event Pass and new Emotes and Cardbacks.
