DRX was the first to play and they fought against North America’s superteam Cloud9, defeating them in a dramatic 2-1 fashion.
The South Korean team first fumbled in Pearl for Game 1, losing to C9 in an abysmal score of 13-3. The majority of the team had an off-game save for Kim “MaKo” Myeong-kwan who secured the only double-digit kill score with a 14/13/2 KDA.
Fortunately, DRX picked up the slack and managed to bounce back at Haven and Icebox for Games 2 and 3, respectively. They finished Haven with a 13-7 scoreline and absolutely obliterated C9 at Icebox 13-2.

Talon Esports then followed up their Pacific brethren with a stunning 2-0 performance against Evil Geniuses.
The Thailand-based team managed to upset EG in Game 1 by activating the 9-3 curse to win the game. Patiphan‘s replacement Apiwat “garnetS” Apiraksukumal had a remarkable performance as Jett, claiming fifteen kills and two assists in the second half for a 21/16/3 KDA in Game 1.
Then, Talon had another comeback victory yet again in Game 2. They were behind EG, 8-4, in the first half and proceeded to mount a comeback come the second half while only losing two rounds to end it 13-10.
As a result of their wins, DRX and Talon Esports will both be facing each other in the semifinals of the Alpha Bracket in VCT LOCK//IN.
