Filipino representative team NAOS Esports has concluded their VCT Ascension Pacific 2024 run. The squad will next compete in the new Challengers League.

NAOS Esports exits Ascension 2024

NAOS opened Ascension 2024 with a match against BOOM Esports. The Indonesian adversaries were the favorites coming in, and expectations were well met. BOOM sent NAOS to the lower bracket with the 2-0 match.

The PH team next faced the Hong Kong squad Oblivion Force. NAOS built up leads in the first halves of the maps, but Oblivion Force fought back. Despite their efforts, however, OF fell. This allowed NAOS to progress through the lower bracket.

NAOS vs RIDDLE ORDER

Their next do-or-die was against RIDDLE ORDER. The mixed Japanese and South Korean team notably included Park “Seoldam” Sang-min, who previously played for Northeption and DetonatioN FocusMe in the past.

FEATURED STORIES

The first map, Haven, was a close match. The teams were neck-and-neck, and the map reached overtime. NAOS eventually prevailed in the war of attrition and took the first map 17-15.

Lotus, now RIDDLE’s map pick, was a completely different story. NAOS only found one round in the entirety of the first half. RIDDLE quickly tied up loose ends in the second half and ended Lotus 13-3.

The series came to a head on Ascent. This map told a similar story to Haven, and both teams now look evenly matched again. However, NAOS buckled and dropped the map 11-13. This spelled the end of their Ascension run and with it, their hopes of being promoted to VCT Pacific.
